Liver
Your liver already detoxifies substances continuously. Kitchen drinks and foods can support normal function and help reduce factors that contribute to fatty liver. Detox teas and cleanses are not necessary — and some concentrated herbal supplements can injure the liver.
Coffee and brewed green tea have evidence associated with liver benefits. Green-tea extract supplements are different from a normal cup of tea and have been linked to liver injury when taken excessively.
| Drink | How to prepare | How often |
|---|---|---|
| Plain water | Normal drinking water | Throughout the day |
| Lemon water | Water + fresh lemon, no sugar | Daily if you like |
| Green tea | 1 normal-strength cup | About 1 cup / day |
| Tulsi tea | Fresh tulsi + hot water | Occasional or daily |
| Ginger tea | Few slices fresh ginger + hot water | 3–5 times / week |
| Cumin water | Small amount of cumin + water | Occasional |
| Whole apple | Prefer eating rather than juicing | Daily / regularly |
| Papaya | Whole fruit | Regularly |
| Amla · guava · orange | Eat whole fruit | Regularly |
| Unsweetened coffee | 1–2 cups if tolerated | Optional |
Think of this as supportive hydration — not a liver detox treatment.
For liver health, whole fruit is generally better than juice — especially if fatty liver or blood sugar is a concern. Sugary drinks and juices can add a lot of simple sugars, including fructose, which is particularly relevant to fatty liver. Do not make juice a major part of the diet.
Patterns that emphasize vegetables, fruits, whole grains, legumes, nuts, healthy fats, and lean protein are recommended for liver health.

This list matters more than finding a special detox tea. Alcohol can damage the liver directly; excess calories, sugar, and unhealthy fats can contribute to fatty liver.

Fatty liver is common and is diagnosed with labs and sometimes a scan. Weight, sugar, and cholesterol plans belong with your doctor.
